For pipe welding the following methods are used:
- TIG (DIN 17455; 17457) - tungsten inert gas welding, used for water piping, gas supply pipes and and pipes for the food industry.
- MIG - metal inert gas welding.
- PAW – plasma arc welding.
- HF - high frequency welding, seam annealing.
- SMAW - shielded metal arc welding.
- FCAW - flux-cored arc welding.
- GMAW - gas metal arc welding.
- GTAW - gas tungsten arc welding.
