Steel Strips
This standard concerns general-purpose hot-rolled steel strips and steel strips for nuts from 11 to 200 mm width and from 4 to 60 mm thickness.
Depending on steel grade strips of the following length are manufactured:
- Steel strips from 2 to 6 m length — quality carbon and alloy steel.
- Steel strips from 3 to 10 m length — carbon steel, low alloy and phosphorus steel.
Depending on rolling accuracy steel strips can be::
- Of standard accuracy
- Of advanced accuracy
Depending on their application steel strips of the following length are manufactured:
- Gauge length
- Gauge length with the residue not more than 15% of the lot weight
- Off-gauge length
- Multiple gauge length
- Multiple gauge length with the residue not more than 15% of the lot weight.
The residue means a carbon, low alloy or phosphorus steel strip not less than 2 m length, and quality carbon and alloy steel strip not less than 1 m length.
If off-gauge steel strips are supplied, not more than 10% of the lot weight is allowed to be carbon, low alloy or phosphorus steel strips from 2 to 3 m length, and quality carbon and alloy steel strips from 1 to 2 m length.
