Galvanized Steel Sheets

Galvanized steel sheets are manufactured according to GOST 14918 - 80. Galvanized steel is manufactured from cold-rolled carbon steel coils with surface quality acc. to GOST 16523-89, with width from 710 to 1800 mm inclusive, and thickness from 0.5 to 2.5 mm inclusive. The schedule of galvanized steel should confirm GOST 19904-74.

Depending on coating thickness galvanized steel is divided into 3 grades:

• 1 – if coating thickness is over 18 to 40 mcm incl.;
• 2 - if coating thickness is from 10 to 18 mcm incl.;
• P- if coating thickness is over 40 to 60 mcm incl;

Galvanized steel sheets for cold forming are divided to the following groups:

• VG – extremely deep drawing;
• G – deep drawing;
• N – ordinary drawing;
• PK – for painting (temper-rolled);
• ON – general purpose;
• HP – for cold shaping;

By application galvanized steel sheets can be:

• HSH – cold forming;

Depending on uniformity of zinc coating thickness galvanized steel can be:

• With reduced unevenness - UR
• With normal unevenness - NR

Galvanized steel of the highest quality grade is manufactured with the following zinc coating unevenness value for HSH, HP and PK steel grades:

• grade 1 - 8 max
• grade 2 – 3 mcm max
• grade P - 12 max

For galvanizing TSO and TS1 (seldom TS2) zinc is used, acc. to GOST 3640-79 with addition of aluminum, lead and other metals to the bath.
